- 1851: The Old Tabernacle is begun in Salt Lake City. It would serve as a meeting place until 1870.
- 1852: Joseph F. Smith is baptized in Salt Lake City. Three more future presidents of the Church would be baptized in the same river, City Creek.
- 1912: The first stake in New Mexico is organized.
- 1945:George Albert Smith is ordained and set apart as the eighth President of the Church.
- 1967: The first stake in Guatemala is organized in Guatemala City.
