On May 8th in Church History from LDS Gifts

  • 1831: Joseph and Emma Smith adopt twins after their mother, Julia Murdock, died during child birth. The Smith's had recently lost twins shortly after birth.
  • 1899: During a terrible drought, President Lorenzo Snow reemphasized the payment of tithing. This practice had been neglected for some time by members of the Church. Following the announcement and acceptance by the members, the drought came to an end.
  • 1988: The first meeting house in the Bahamas is dedicated on New Providence Island.

Thank you for visiting Great LDS Gifts.
